Global Privacy Campaign

For WhatsApp's latest Global Privacy Campaign, the goal was to celebrate the innovations behind privacy technology and raise awareness about the protection and control they offer its users.
The visual core of the campaign centered around a symbol/glyph: The Lock, also referred to as the Mnemonic, which helped tell the story of "Multiple Layers of Protection". Along with the Mnemonic, designs were developed for all of the privacy features such as 2-Step Verification, End-to-End Encryption, Hidden Online Presence, Block & Report, Disappearing Messages, Leave Groups Silently and Screenshot Blocking.
As part of the team at Hueso, our role was to create a motion design language for all the privacy features. The challenge lay not only in the design but also in the animation: it needed to be simple, flexible, technical but human.
Together, we delivered a visual system integrated into an extensive asset library, which supported the creation of over 1,400 assets for WhatsApp’s inaugural Global Privacy Campaign.
